Event Description:
30th Annual Bay View Women's Walk/Run

Each year, Soroptimist International of Burlington and Skagit Runners host the annual Bay View Women’s Walk/Run benefiting Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services, and Women’s Health Issues.  This event includes a 2 mile walk, 2 mile fun run and a 10K race which will be held at 10 am, Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Bayview State Park.  Prizes will be awarded.

Over the years this event has brought together thousands of participants and volunteers to enjoy exercise, fellowship and the satisfaction of supporting a worthy cause. This is for all ages and capabilities!  It’s a great family, friends and community event.  Teams are encouraged to participate and to show their colors or wear costumes.

The walk/run takes place in the beautiful setting of Padilla Bay in Skagit Valley, home to the bald eagle, blue heron, trumpeter swan and much other wildlife.  The course has gently rolling hills, scenic views of the waterfront, countryside and the Olympics.

T shirts and sweatshirts with original artwork by Skagit Valley artist Lou Ann Knutzen are a highlight of the event.

Entry fees range from $20 to $45 depending on shirt selection.  Kids run free (no shirt).  Pre-registration with reduced price shirts takes place until May 4 at active.com. For information or registration forms call 360-757-4815 or email bvwomensk@gmail.com.  Day of race registration takes place from 8am to 9:30 am at the picnic shelter on the beach at Bay View State Park.
