Name: 6th Annual Skillshare & Barter Faire
Date: September 16, 2017 - September 17, 2017
Event Description:
Build community resilience together at a fun, family-friendly weekend festival at the Lookout Arts Quarry, located in Alger. Swimming in the quarry and camping is available in beautiful wooded sites. There will be a full program of short classes, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations, on topics such as self-reliance, food preservation, gardening, health & wellness, appropriate technology, permaculture, emergency preparation, hands-on activities, primitive skills, and community resilience. There will be dedicated bartering space and time to allow folks to trade their homemade or useful goods. This event, sponsored by Sustainable Bellingham and made possible by countless other local organizations, is entirely volunteer-run! The public can get involved in the Skillshare & Barter Faire by joining the planning committee, signing up to share a skill, volunteering on the day of the event with behind-the-scenes tasks, donating, or supporting the event by attending. Volunteers get a free pass and a meal from the delicious volunteer kitchen. Early-bird tickets are available now through August 15th for only $15 for one day or $25 for both days. Further details about admission, including camping, vending, and bartering rates can be found on the website (www.cascadiaskillshare.org) along with schedule information as it becomes available.
