Name: A-Town vs B-Town Proclamation
Date: February 16, 2016
Time: 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM PST
Event Description:
The City of Bellingham  recently held a special event where Mayor Kelly Linville challenged the City of Anacortes to finish in a higher ranking then Bellingham in the Georgetown University Energy Prize, a $5,000,000 energy efficiency competition spanning 50 cities across the US.

In response, the City of Anacortes will be holding a special event at the beginning of the City Council meeting February 16th at 6pm, to answer in kind with our very own Town Crier Richard Riddel. Anacortes will be accepting B-Town's challenge and issuing a city-wide proclamation to declare 2016 the Year of Energy Efficiency!

The prize for this A-Town vs. B-Town challenge is a basket of locally produced delectables to be delivered by the losing city's Mayor to the City Council of the victor. Currently B-Town is ranked #8 and A-Town is ranked #11 out of 50 cities, so we have some work ahead to catch up & surpass our challenger!

The Anacortes Community Energy committee would greatly appreciate public attendance and participation in this event. Let's show B-Town and the nation that A-Town is a world-class energy efficient city!
