Another favorite summertime event is the Bivalve Bash and Low Tide Mud Run, set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at Taylor Shellfish Farms’ Samish Bay location off Chuckanut Drive in Bow.
This is the ninth year for the event that includes a wet, messy and fun run through the mud of Samish Bay tidelands; an oyster shell sculpture contest; games; live music and more.
The 250-yard Low Tide Mud Run starts at, well, low tide — 12:07 p.m. — with prizes and medals awarded in each division.
Kids can get in on the fun, too, with a 100-yard run for ages 8 to 12 at 11:47 a.m.
