Choose Health 2010! 3rd Annual Co-op Community Wellness Fair
Saturday April 24th 11am-2pm

The Skagit Valley Food Co-op in downtown Mount Vernon hosts the 3rd Annual Community Wellness Fair on Saturday April 24th from 11-2pm. This free open-house style event features live music from the Bards of KeyPoynt on the coolertop, samples in every store department, and a balloon trail to the 3rd floor of the Co-op building, where over 20 local wellness practitioners offer information and a taste of their specialties. Bring your kids, grab a good friend, and come choose health!

Info and Sample Tables include massage therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, mom's groups and trail groups, dancing for fitness, hypnotherapy and more, with free presentations in room 310 on the half hour.

Beyond "Sit Up Straight": An Introduction to the Alexander Technique
The Alexander Technique is a method for learning to perform day-to-day activities with reduced tension, by addressing the student's physical and mental habits that can contribute to fatigue and pain. This presentation includes a discussion the history of the Alexander Technique with an overview of what it is (and isn't) and a brief synopsis of the life and work of F. M. Alexander. Angeline will also discuss how to incorporate the principles of the Technique into daily life, and explain how a typical lesson is conducted. The presentation ends with a brief one-on-one hands-on demonstration for any interested volunteers.
