Event Description:
Community Action of Skagit County is honored to be the host site for the ‘Bridge the Gap’ art mosaic mural installed earlier this month on the agency’s building facing Riverside Drive. The art mosaic was designed and constructed by students from Burlington-Edison and Mount Vernon High Schools andSkagit Valley College. Fir Island artist Patty Detzer coordinated and oversaw the project. Other major contributors were the Mount Vernon Police department, Skagit County Public Health and Community Services, Calling all Colors and Skagit Valley College. This project was funded by the Skagit Prevention Council.
 
Community Action is very pleased to be one of 9 sites in Skagit County that hosts one of these art mosaics. This series of mosaics originated from a collaborative youth development project started from the Community Health Outreach Program at United General Hospital. A dedication reception is scheduled for September 18th at 12:30 pm at 2221 Riverside Drive (Mount Vernon) to honor and thank all those involved.
