Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Join us on Saturday, April 28th for an evening of high-energy Irish tunes! “…one of the finest fiddlers in America and certainly the most genial among them…his feel and tone breathtaking…He pulls brilliant music from the fiddle.” –Daniel Neely, The Irish Echo All-Ireland Fiddle Champion Dylan Foley joins the stage with Eamon O’Leary for a night of great music! Enjoy brilliant fiddle playing and superb accompaniment from two of the finest Irish musicians of our time. Dylan’s passionate and lyrical style is complimented by Eamon’s powerful songs and beautiful playing. Two masters, well met, for an unforgettable evening. Dylan Foley (fiddle) is a four-time All-Ireland Fiddle Champion and, as Brian Conway once said, “one of the finest fiddlers of his generation.” He has delighted audiences from Lincoln Center to the Austin Celtic Festival, and from the mayor’s Garcia Mansion in New York City to Irish Television channels RTE and TG4. Dylan is busy as a teacher and performer at the major Irish music schools and festivals on both sides of the Atlantic, including the John Dwyer Festival in Waterford, Padraig O’Keefe Festival in Kerry, and the Atlanta Irish Festival. Dylan is committed to passing on the tradition, as it was graciously passed to him, by the incomparable Rose Flanagan and others. Eamon O’Leary (guitar, bouzouki, vocals) grew up in Dublin and developed an interest in Irish music through his friendship with Emer, Brenda, and John Mayock, a noted family of Irish traditional musicians from County Mayo. His first instrument was the guitar, which he started playing while in his teens. When he moved to New York City in 1991, he met guitarist John Doyle, fiddler Patrick Ourceau, and other NYC-based musicians. Ever since, he’s become a fixture in the city’s thriving Irish music scene. He is one half of the duo The Murphy Beds and is also well known for his duo and band work with Nuala Kennedy.
