Event Description:
Skagit Valley College's Mount Vernon Campus will host the 4th annual Sustainability Fair from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Friday May 15 in the Campus Center. Keynote speaker will be Eric Leonhardt, Director of the Vehicle Research Institute at Western Washington University. Dr. Leonhardt will speak about “Cow Power to Horsepower: Sustainable Transportation for Skagit and Whatcom County”. His presentation will begin at 1:00 in the Multipurpose Room.
            The Sustainability Fair will launch a full-day series of events with vendors, demonstrations, presentations and informational literature.  Activities will include wind, solar, and biodiesel displays, hybrid and experimental vehicles, urban planning and mass transit information, as well as information on organic and locally grown produce.  In addition, speakers will give presentations on topics ranging from home weatherization to global warming.  The culmination of the day will include food and live music starting at 6:00 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.
