Gail Harker Textile Appreciation Morning

Join us for a relaxed morning to look and talk about textiles. We'll start with a guest presentation by Christina Fairley Erickson with photos and some examples of Israeli and Palestinian historic and contemporary textiles, such as this 17th century silk and gilt thread torah mantle. Bring a stitched textile for the group to see. It can be from any country including your own. If you have a short story about the textile - great! Perhaps you have a piece of work that you may like to know a little more about or know what stitches or techniques were used. Bring anything at all - from a tea towel, crazy quilt, whitework lace or other. Perhaps you have some precious pieces and weren?t aware of it. If you have nothing to bring, bring yourself for a cup of tea or coffee.
