Event Description:
A unique and meaningful volunteer opportunity is available through Hospice of the Northwest, serving Skagit, Island and San Juan counties. Hospice volunteers are compassionate individuals who offer support and companionship to patients with a six month or less life expectancy. Recruitment for the summer training is taking place now. The training will be held July 13, 20, 27 and August 3. Before volunteering, individuals complete an application, interview and background check. Volunteers donate approximately 3 hours per week for one year.
