McIntyre Hall Presents: Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband

Ryan Shupe & The Rubberband's lively hybrid style of bluegrass infused with flavors of rap, rock, and contemporary country, has universal appeal. This charismatic quintet will take you on an entertainment roller-coaster with stellar musicianship, witty lyrics, funny antics, sing-alongs, and introspective ballads like hit single, "Dream Big". A descendant from a long line of fiddle players, (he's the fifth generation to play) Shupe has been playing violin nearly as long as he could walk. He started touring professionally as a child, not quite 10 years of age, with the PeeWee Pickers. And in college he formed the Rubberband. The five man band, hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah, is a breath of fresh air in their organic approach to performing.
