The Mount Vernon Downtown Association is pleased to present the next First Thursday Art Walk on May 1, 2014,
5 – 8 pm. First Thursday Art Walks are part of the Skagit Valley Art Escape experience of art activities in the  communities of Anacortes, Edison, La Conner, and Mount Vernon. Visitors and locals alike will be delighted with gallery art walks, music performances, and artist demonstrations encompassing a broad range of media.
 
Poster artists for the May 1, Art Walk are Lavone Newell-Reim, showing at the Front Gallery, 420 Myrtle, and Cathy Schoenberg, whose painted panels will be installed in the “Alley Gallery”, north of Pine Square. Lavone recently returned from a successful exhibit of her work in New York, and has been a member of the Skagit Valley artist community for fifty years. For seventeen years, she co-hosted the Skagit City Fine Art Exhibit which included up to eighteen of the Valley's finest, such as Guy Anderson, Clayton James, and so many other talented artists.
 
The First Thursday Art Walks feature work by local and regional artists. Enjoy original art, wine, chocolates, dinner and more at your favorite downtown locations.
