MVDA FIRST THURSDAY ART WALK

On the first weekend of each month from April-October, the Skagit Valley Art Escape invites out-of-area visitors to spend the weekend experiencing art activities in the Skagit Valley communities of Mount Vernon, Anacortes, Edison, and La Conner. Visitors and locals alike will be delighted with gallery art walks, music performances, and artist demonstrations encompassing a broad range of media. The Mount Vernon Downtown Association (MVDA) Art Walks include more than 15 downtown venues featuring work by local and regional artists. During September, the MVDA is pleased to present a group show by the Skagit Valley Weavers? Guild (SVWG) at the Front Gallery, 420 Myrtle. The SVWG ?continues to promote skills in hand-weaving and fiber arts through education, sharing and community awareness?. The Skagit Valley Art Escape is a fun, social, and creative excursion to the best in art and music of the Skagit Valley. With great restaurants, bars, galleries, and places to stay, the weekend provides many opportunities to get lost in the character of four unique waterfront communities.
