Our First Annual Food Drive to benefit local food banks, sponsored by Gateway Pacific Terminal. Our goal is 50,000 pounds of food - we can do it with your help! Bring canned food or dry goods when you come to The Fair and be entered in a daily drawing. A grand prize of $500.00 will be awarded on August 17th to a lucky winner! Drawings will be held daily at the Haggen's Festival Stage at 7:30 p.m.
You will find the food drop locations at Gates 1 (Front Street), 5 (near the Equine Center) and 8 (near the carnival). The donated items will be on display near the Water Tower. Bring an item and help us benefit the following Food Banks: Bellingham, Blaine, Christ the King, Ferndale, Foothills, Lummi, Nooksack-Everson, Project Hope, Salvation Army and Southside.
Rising star Hunter Hayes, who has received three Grammy nominations as well as the CMA award for Best New Artist of 2012, will perform at the Northwest Washington Fair, after finishing a tour with Carrie Underwood. The 21-year-old prodigy Hayes, who has also opened for a Taylor Swift tour, wrote or co-wrote all of the songs on his self-titled debut, "Hunter Hayes." He also co-produced the album, sings all the vocals and plays all of the 30-plus instruments heard on the record. The album already has generated three major hits: the barn-burning "Storm Warning," the lilting "Somebody's Heartbreak" and the gripping ballad "Wanted," which soared to No. 1 and is quickly nearing Double Platinum status.
