Name: Relay For Life of Anacortes
Date: June 25, 2011 - June 26, 2011
Event Description:
Relay For Life in Anacortes celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Relay For Life is a community gathering where everyone can participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people will camp out at the high school and take turns walking or running around the track. Each team is asked to have a participant on the track at all times - because cancer never sleeps. Relay For Life is an overnight event that is 18 hours in length this year.

Relay brings together people from all walks of life with the common goal of eliminating cancer. No matter who you are, there's a place for you at Relay. Join us today!

When the sun goes down, hundreds of luminaria light the way under the stars to remember those lost to cancer, those fighting cancer and those who fought cancer and won. This ceremony of light symbolizes the hope and perserverance with which we all continue to fight.

All survivors (anyone who has faced a cancer diagnosis) are invited to join us as honorary guests in the Survivor Lap, which opens the Relay For Life. Their strength and courage help the community see that cancer survivorship is real - that we are making progress in the battle against cancer.

This event is open to anyone and we encourage you to come out and see what we are all about - it may change your life forever.
