Skagit Valley College hosts Breakfast for Champions of Diversity

The Skagit Valley College Foundation will host a special scholarship fundraiser, Breakfast for Champions of Diversity, on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. The complimentary breakfast and program will take place from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. in the McIntyre Hall Performing Arts & Conference Center, located at 2501 East College Way, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.

“The Champions of Diversity program is essential to removing barriers to entry for education for all students,” said Committee Co-chair Ryan Sakuma. “It is remarkable to see the growing number of local young people who are achieving their academic and career goals because of the support of scholarship funds received through Champions of Diversity. The Breakfast for Champions fundraiser provides a fun and inspiring opportunity for community members to support these students.”

Champions of Diversity is an annual ceremony conducted at Skagit Valley College to recognize students nominated by local high schools for their contributions to diversity and public service, and to support and encourage their enrollment in college.
