The Anacortes Seafarers’ Memorial Fund Benefit Auction & Third Annual Anacortes Workboat Races Kickoff Banquet will take place Friday, August 26th  6:00pm – 11:00pm  at the Anacortes Elks Lodge No. 1204, at 1009 7th St., Anacortes, Washington. The banquet will be a benefit for the Seafarers' Memorial Fund,  which is dedicated to the men and women who go down to the sea to work and do not return, and for the Third Annual Anacortes Workboat Races, celebrating the importance of the marine industry. The Seafarer's Memorial will be honoring it's 35th Anniversary on August 28th.

Anacortes has a long maritime history and many fine local families have experienced the loss of their loved ones to the sea. The evening is dedicated to these men and women and their families. The families, the captains and crews of the race boats, and the public are invited to attend. The event begins with a no host cocktail hour followed by a scrumptious buffet by Chef Jeff Rice. The evening continues with a live auction including a framed Discovery Channel Deadliest Catch Poster donated by Captain Keith Colburn of the F/V Wizard signed by the captains of the Deadliest Catch,  a framed event poster also signed by Captain Colburn and the poster artist Jacques Moitoret, autographed posters, merchandise and memorabilia from the F/V Time Bandit ,  F/V Northwestern, F/V Wizard and the F/V Cornelia Marie along with a Jay Leno Show T-shirt and hat and donations from the community. Captains. Crew members  and vessel owners from the Deadliest Catch have also been invited to attend. The evening will conclude with live music and dancing.

Cost of the buffet is $15 with proceeds to be donated to the Anacortes Seafarer's Memorial Fund.  This event is limited to the first 200 tickets sold and tickets can purchased at the Anacortes Elks or by calling 360.293.3522 or 360.708.7770.
