To engage our community in the importance of sustainable agriculture in Skagit County, we are featuring a selection of curated films from the Film Festival held in Nevada City, CA each year. Our film selections revolve around agriculture, sustainability, and related topics. Viva Farms is a small-farm business incubator that preserves sustainable farming, and creates a strong and just food system. We support aspiring farmers by providing bilingual training in sustainable organic farming, and access to land, infrastructure, equipment, marketing and capital (The Essentials). We lower the barriers for beginning farmers, and create the opportunity for success. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a collection of films from the annual festival held the third week of January in Nevada City, CA which is now in its 15th year. Wild & Scenic focuses on films which speak to the environmental concerns and celebrations of our planet. "Films featured at Wild & Scenic give people a sense of place," says Tour Associate Director, Amelia Workman. "In today's busy world, it is easy to disconnect from our role in the global ecosystem. When we realize that the change we need in this world begins with us, we start making a difference. Come get inspired!"
